Welding rods are filler material (metal rods) used when joining metals. Filler material is used to finish the joint cleanly and heighten the strength of the weld. Welding rods melt metal with a low melting point into the welded part to fill the joint. Types are classified by the type of coating material (flux), and they are ilmenite type that join titanium and iron oxide, lime-titania type with lime (coal) and titanium (titanium oxide) as main raw materials, low-hydrogen type with calcium carbonate and calcium fluoride as main raw materials, and high-titanium oxide type with high-titanium oxide as the main raw material. They each have their own features such as weld pool and bead stretch and external appearance, so it is important to select one that fits the material to be welded.
It is used for the welding of general structures on vehicles, and in construction. Suitable for protruding and fillet welding of thin sheets around 20 mm or less. Provides stable slag covering for flat welding and beautiful, glossy beads. Even greater weld permeation in high titanium oxides and lime titania which is suitable for welded joints and even thin plates that require ample welding permeation.
